Two partnership agreements and cooperation have been signed, Thursday 27 November in Hammamet, the Tunisian government and the multinational "Intel Corporation" on the one hand, and the Arab organization for information technology and communication and 'International Telecommunication Union (ITU), on the other hand, simultaneously with the work of the International Forum ICT 4 All Forum-Tunis +3.
In this context, MM. El Hadj Gley, minister of communication technologies and Gordon Graylish, vice president of the multinational "Intel Corporation, signed a partnership agreement in the fields of computers and electronics.
This cooperation aims to implement a program to support "Intel Teach" promoting the spread of new technologies in educational institutions in Tunisia, in addition to a WIMAX broadband and radio frequency management.
This agreement also stipulates the upgrading of small and medium enterprises engaged in Tunisian fields of industry, and the promotion of Tunisian expertise in the field of ICTs.
ATI has blocked VOIP over all the land connections
In Tunisia, the VoIP lacking a strict legislation is prohibited for use by corporations, under the pressure and the fear of Tunisie Telecom, that very innovative and useful technology was used under secrecy by most of the CRP business: 90% are call centers whose axe bone is about to get communications absolutely through digital channels with France.
In a very strange and unatteneded move, ATI the governmental Internet provider having hold control of all the Internet over all the private ISPs have blocked the VoIP ports and stream since last week for all customers using local T1 connections, only the big companies having dedicated international T1 connection or subscribed to Divona's Wimax services still have their VoIP working.
The panic is what describes a tens of small and middle sized call center all over Tunis, whose business is down since a while, what's going on? and what the hell made ATI do that? Are they trying to make everybody get a much more expensive service or is it just that they can't still control VoIP?
